STEP ONE - Verify Grade Level Eligibility
Students are eligible to enter the following grade levels based on their age:
Transitional Kindergarten (TK) - children who are 4 years old by Sept 1
Kindergarten (K) - children who are 5 years old by Sept 1
*Currently enrolled LOSD TK students do not need to register for Kindergarten as they are already enrolled in LOSD
TK students currently enrolled in LOSD do not need to register for Kindergarten
as they are already enrolled in our District and will be automatically enrolled in
Kindergarten.
Grades 1-8: Will be placed in the grade following the last one they attended, or
according to their age if it is their first time attending public school in the United
States.
STEP TWO - Verify Residency
Please see the LOSD MySchool Locator to confirm you are in our district boundaries.
To determine which elementary is your residency school please see our grid index:
Please note, Live Oak Elementary School (LOE) is a TK-5 Dual Language Immersion
(DLI) school. There are no english only classes. Therefore, if you are in the LOE
boundaries and are not interested in having your child enrolled in a DLI school you have
the choice between Del Mar Elementary and Green Acres Elementary.
Out of District Residents: Any student wishing to attend LOSD who lives outside of our
district boundaries will need to submit an Inter-District Transfer (IDT) form. Submit this
form to your resident district office. If you need assistance in determining your district
or have questions regarding the process please contact our district office.
