Our mission in the LOSD Dual Language Program is to inspire a lifelong love of learning and promote the development of bilingualism, biliteracy, academic achievement, and cross-cultural competencies in all of our students.
Through the Dual Immersion Program at Live Oak Elementary students will discover their voice in not one, but two languages. Students will develop a deeper understanding of the world around them and their unique place within it.

Our Dual Immersion program begins in TK (Transitional Kindergarten) with 50% of their day in Spanish and 50% in English. Students in Kindergarten begin with 90% of their day in Spanish and 10% in English. Each year the percentage of English increases by 10% until 4th and 5th grade when the day is divided evenly between Spanish and English. Not only are students immersed in the language, but they are exposed to important aspects of cultures from around the world.
LOSD Dual Immersion promotes bilingualism, biliteracy, grade-level achievement and cross cultural awareness.
