Parent Involvement

School Site Activities & Organizations

Home and School Club

The function of the Home and School Clubs vary from school to school, but in general they are parent volunteer organizations that work with teachers, administrators, and families to enrich the experience of students at each school site, as well as strengthen our community.  The organizations strive to provide a social environment for staff and families to work and play together. Activities include fundraising, hosting special events, and coordinating volunteers.

School Site Council

Site Council is an elected group of parents, teachers and staff. If you would like to attend a Site Council meeting, please call your school office for meeting dates.

Volunteering in the Classroom

Contact your student's teacher or principal to volunteer in the classroom. In addition, check with your principal and watch your school newsletter for opportunities to help with special activities, clubs and organizations or ongoing needs like lunchtime supervision.

District Volunteer and Fingerprint Policy

English Language Advisory Committees meet on every campus. Comprised of staff, teachers and parents, ELAC views and addresses the needs of our English language-learning students. There is also a DELAC group that meets regarding district-wide issues concerning English language acquisition.

Principal's Meeting

Most principals host monthly or quarterly gatherings. Watch your school newsletter and marquee for dates and times.
